Ready, set, go: the Contemporary Jewish Museum launches

Nesting invitations for the Grand Opening of the new building

by Elixir

To herald the grand opening of its new building in June 2008, the Contemporary Jewish Museum planned a progression of events for supporters at various levels. Elixir developed a system of nesting invitations that mailed in a single envelope. Major donors received the full set.

The new building marries an early 20th-century San Francisco landmark to a contemporary steel-clad jewel. Architectural features inform the invitation package– from the blueprint used for the save-the-date to photographic perspectives on the actual invitations. The pairing of classic layout with modern typography echoes architect Daniel Libeskind’s stylistic synergy.

The Grand Opening of the new building is Sunday, June 8. Visit www.thecjm.org for details. For some extra back-story, check out the San Francisco Chronicle’s coverage of it here.
