Opening night at SFMC+D

The opening of San Francisco Graphic Design at the SF Museum of Craft + Design drew a kaleidoscopic crowd.

We hope you’ll visit, or revisit, the exhibition, which is up until April 26, at 550 Sutter Street, between Powell and Mason. While you’re out and about: The Hotel Rex, two doors up, has a peek-worthy elevator, decoupaged with vintage pages from San Francisco Social Registers. The hotel’s interior was designed by Elixir client Candra Scott & Anderson—whose logo is featured in our Communication Arts profile along with several invitations and other projects showcased at the exhibition.

Ready, set, go: the Contemporary Jewish Museum launches

Nesting invitations for the Grand Opening of the new building

To herald the grand opening of its new building in June 2008, the Contemporary Jewish Museum planned a progression of events for supporters at various levels, for which Elixir developed a system of nesting invitations that mailed in a single envelope. The new building marries an early 20th-century San Francisco landmark to a contemporary steel-clad jewel. Architectural features inform the invitation package– from the blueprint used for the save-the-date to photographic perspectives on the actual invitations. The pairing of classic layout with modern typography echoes architect Daniel Libeskind’s stylistic synergy.
