Hearts in SF Features A Heart Sculpture From One Of Elixir’s Own in Union Square!

Polaroid SF heart created by our own Billy Westley for Hearts of San Francisco fundraiser for San Francisco General Hospital has found a home in Union Square

by Jennifer Jerde

We have been waiting with baited breath to find out where in San Francisco Billy and Bruce’s heart design would land for public display. We had high hopes for Union Square and are thrilled to say it’s there! Out of all the large hearts commissioned and auctioned off this year as a fundraiser for San Francisco General Hospital, only a few get displayed in Union Square. So this cause for celebration!

Part of the 2015 Hearts in SF project, The Polaroid Heart was designed by Polaroid SF (Billy’s awesome photo project), and is covered with over 1000 Polaroids taken in San Francisco that were collected from the community. It’s a thoughtful design that will provide a great snapshot of our beloved city to all who pass by Union Square.

The heart sculptures have been a public art installation in Union Square since 2004 and are installed in each of the four corners of the square.
